Acacia Xanthophloea – Fever Tree
Grow to a height of 15–25 m. The bark is smooth, powdery and greenish yellow. It is one of the few TREES where photosynthesis takes place in the Bark.
A truly majestic tree once established. Acacia Xanthophloea stands out amongst other trees in the garden.
They are excellent in attracting different types of birds and is often a nesting tree for many indigenous birds.
In the wild, they are usually browsed by large game and elephant who love the leaves.
A certain species of butterflies have been recorded eating the leaves.
