Blueberries are perennial flowering plants with purple-blue colored berries.

Blueberries are high in anti-oxidants.

The blueberry variety “Centurion” belongs to group called rabbiteye blueberries. Rabbiteye types are taller than other kinds of blueberries, growing as open-branched bushes that can reach a height of approx. 3m when left unpruned.

The plants are deciduous, with leaves that have whitish-blue undersides, and have small, bell-shaped pink flowers. “Centurion” blooms in spring with bearing lasting into early fall in cooler areas.

Its berries are medium-sized and a dark blue color, with a lovely sweet flavor.

Plump, juicy blueberries aren’t just delicious. They’re high in nutrients, antioxidants, fiber, and vitamins. While these are popular fruits, many people are unsure as to what a blueberry bush looks like. It looks like a typical shrub with shiny, oval shaped green leaves. The height can vary, depending on the variety, ranging up to 3.5m tall. There are two types of blueberries, highbush and lowbush.

Select a sunny, sheltered spot. While blueberries are tolerant of shade, better crops are obtained in the sun. At the same time, they should not be exposed to harsh, drying winds.

The blueberry is a shallow-rooted plant. Therefore, it requires a soil that holds moisture, but also drains well and doesn’t stay wet.
